STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Wagner College men’s water polo head coach Josh Hower announced the team’s captains for the upcoming 2023 season.

The Seahawks will be led by junior attacker Andrew Cowie (Maple Ridge, B.C./Maple Ridge Secondary) and graduate student attacker Ben Zovickian (San Francisco, Calif./St. Ignatius College Preparatory) for their imminent campaign. Wagner is coming off a season that saw their highest conference wins total since the team’s inception with 10.

Cowie returns for his junior season after appearing in 31 games with 12 goals and five assists for the Green & White last year. He netted 11 goals in 45 shots, while adding five assists and two drawn exclusions as a freshman.

Zovickian enters his fourth season with the Seahawks after dressing for 27 games, scoring eight goals and recording 12 assists. The California native also added six drawn exclusions and seven steals to his season statistics as he begins 2023 with 12 goals and 18 steals during his prior three seasons.
