BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Andu Vlasceanu (Fr., Bucharest, Romania/Liceul Teoretic “Nicolae Lorga” Bucuresti) opened his collegiate career by scoring 13 goals with six assists at the Bruno Classic hosted by Brown University. For his inaugural intercollegiate efforts, Vlasceanu collects recognition as the September 9 Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) Rookie of the Week.
He commenced his Bison tenure by reeling off five goals, an assist and four steals in a 15-9 defeat of Division III No. 4 the Massachusetts Institute of Technology prior to accounting for four goals along with pairs of assists, steals and ejections drawn in a 20-19 edging of No. 20 California Baptist University on Saturday, September 7.
On Sunday, September 8, he continued his offensive onslaught by reeling off three goals, two assists, two steals and three ejections drawn in a 17-9 win over the host Bears of No. 19 Brown. In the weekend finale, he tacked on single goals, assists and ejections drawn as the Bison bested No. 17 St. Francis College Brooklyn, 13-10.
