BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Fiona Watkins (Jr., Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) and goalkeeper Kristi Spieleder (Sr., Torrance, Calif./South Torrance) share April 24 Southwest Division Player of the Week status after combining to help the Sun Devils capture the division championship over the weekend at San Diego State University.
Spieleder limited SDSU “A” to two first half goals and blanked her foe in the second half during the title game, while Watkins scored three times as ASU defeated the University of Arizona (13-4 W), San Diego State “B” (13-2 W) and San Diego State “A” (6-2 W) to punch the program’s ticket to the 2023 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship at the University of California-Los Angeles in Los Angeles, Calif., on Friday-Sunday, May 5-7.
