BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Princeton University alum Ashleigh Johnson ’17 and the United States Women’s National Team downed Italy, 10-4, Hungary, 17-9, and the Netherlands, 18-8, to capture the Dutch Trophy in Rotterdam earlier this week.
Following defeats of Italy and Hungary on Wednesday, July 4, and Thursday, July, 5, respectively, the Americans ran their winning streak to 17 straight games by dispatching the Dutch on Friday, July 6.
It marks the second title in as many weeks for Team USA as the Americans handled Australia (14-4 W), Japan (18-6 W) and Hungary (12-3 W) to claim the Vodafone Cup in Budapest, Hungary, less than seven days ago.
