BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announces 487 student-athletes earned Fall 2020/Winter 2021 ACWPC Men’s All-Academic recognition.  The list is updated with an additional 13 athletes and two teams that were not nominated at the time of the July 29 release.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete’s head coach must be a member of the ACWPC, while the athlete must attain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade point average (GPA), 167 athletes garnered Outstanding (4.00-3.71), 199 Superior (3.70-3.41) and 121 Excellent (3.40-3.20) recognition from 42 teams.

Further, a total of 36 schools posted Team Honors for achieving GPAs over 3.0 with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (3.78) leading the way. The California Institute of Technology (3.72), Stanford University (3.71), Harvard University (3.696), Brown University (3.65), Johns Hopkins University (3.62), California Baptist University (3.61), Concordia University (3.61), St. Francis College Brooklyn (3.585), Connecticut College (3.53), La Salle University (3.53) and Salem University (3.53) complete the Top 10, while University of the Pacific (3.51), Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (3.47), Fordham University (3.44), Wagner College (3.35), Princeton University (3.34), the University of Redlands (3.34), the University of California-Los Angeles (3.334), Bucknell University (3.32), Mercyhurst University (3.311), Gannon University (3.3), Washington & Jefferson College (3.3), the University of California-San Diego (3.298), Occidental College (3.29), Austin College (3.288), Santa Clara University (3.27), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (3.24), George Washington University (3.23), Penn State Behrend (3.2), Loyola Marymount University (3.19), the University of California-Davis (3.19), Iona College (3.15), Mount St. Mary’s University (3.15), Whittier College (3.10) and the United States Naval Academy (3.08) also were recognized for academic excellence by exceeding the 3.0 mark.
