BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announces a revised list of the organization’s Spring 2022 ACWPC Women’s All-Academic honorees with additional athletes and teams earning recognition.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete’s head coach must be a member of the ACWPC, while the athlete must attain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade point average (GPA), the list expands by 29 athletes with 349 Outstanding (4.00-3.71), 350 Superior (3.70-3.41) and 173 Excellent (3.40-3.20) honors bestowed on athletes from 60 institutions. Previously, the list included 338 Outstanding, 336 Superior and 169 Excellent honorees from 58 schools.
Further, a total of 58 schools post Team Honors on the updated list for achieving GPAs over 3.0 with the California Institute of Technology (3.78), San Jose State University (3.74), Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (3.72), Stanford University (3.72), Salem University (3.71), Wagner College (3.70), Brown University (3.68), Connecticut College (3.68), Macalester College (3.67), California Baptist University (3.67), Utica University (3.64), La Salle University (3.63), the University of California-Los Angeles (3.613), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (3.61), Princeton University (3.52), Harvard University (3.57), Augustana College (3.56), Gannon University (3.55), Villanova University (3.55), Long Island University (3.53), Azusa Pacific University (3.52), Marist College (3.514) and Austin College (3.51) leading the way by topping the 3.50 mark.
The University of Redlands (3.48), Santa Clara University (3.476), California State University, Fresno (3.47), Saint Francis University (3.47), California Lutheran University (3.46), San Diego State University (3.43), Bucknell University (3.42), University of the Pacific (3.41), Indiana University (3.402), University of California-Santa Barbara (3.40), Iona College (3.39), California State University, Monterey Bay (3.386), University of California (3.38), Carthage College (3.38), University of California-San Diego (3.38), University of Michigan (3.37), Mount St. Mary’s University (3.36), Virginia Military Institute (3.35), Long Beach State University (3.35), Loyola Marymount University (3.34), University of California-Irvine (3.34), Penn State Behrend (3.32), St. Francis Brooklyn College (3.28), Concordia University (3.27), California State University, East Bay (3.25), Grove City College (3.24), University of California-Davis (3.22), Chapman University (3.22), Siena College (3.21), University of Southern California (3.20), California State University, Northridge (3.12) University of Hawaii (3.10), Fresno Pacific University (3.05) and Biola University (3.0) also reached and/or exceeded the 3.0 GPA plateau.
