BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Alyssa Fricker (Fr., Foothill Ranch, Calif./Santa Margarita Catholic) of Division III No. 9-ranked Augustana College racked up 17 goals, five assists, 13 steals and nine drawn ejections in four games at the Macalester College Invitational to earn recognition as the February 21 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Player and Rookie of the Week.

A repeat selection after earning both the Player and Rookie of the Week awards last week (February 14), she factored in each game during the weekend trip to Saint Paul, Minn., as Vikings faced Division III No. 10 Occidental College, Division III No. 6 University of La Verne, Division III No. 5 Chapman University and Ottawa University (Ariz.).

She opened the weekend by posting five goals, three assists and four steals in an 11-7 defeat of Occidental on Saturday, February 19 for the inaugural victory in the history of the Augustana women’s water polo program.  Fricker concluded the day by notching six goals, two assists and seven steals in a 15-11 loss to La Verne.

On Sunday, February 20, she added five goals and a pair of steals in a 14-10 loss to Chapman prior to putting away a pair of shots in a 17-11 defeat by Ottawa.
