BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Casey Barragan (So., Commerce, Calif./La Serna) contributed 14 goals, an assist, three steals and five exclusions drawn during a 3-1 weekend for Division III No. 7-ranked Augustana College to earn status as the March 20 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III co-Rookie of the Week.

She shares Rookie of the Week honors with Connecticut College’s Gigi Sandull (Fr., Kenilworth, N.J./Union County Vocational-Technical Schools).

A transfer student from Fresno State University, Barragan earns her sixth weekly nod of the season after earning prior kudos on February 13 (Rookie of the Week), February (Player of the Week/Rookie of the Week) and March 6 (Player of the Week/co-Rookie of the Week).

Competing at home in Rock Island, Ill., in CWPA Division III-West Region action, she opened the week by posting seven goals with a pair of steals and a drawn ejection in a 13-3 defeat of Wittenberg University on Friday, March 17.

On Saturday, March 18, she notched three goals, a steal and a drawn ejection in an 11-2 managing of Carthage College prior to accounting for two goals, an assist and a drawn exclusion in an 8-7 victory over Macalester College.

Facing Division III No. 6/defending CWPA Division III Champion Austin College on Sunday, March 19, Barragan accounted for pairs of goals and ejections drawn as the Vikings took an 8-5 setback against the Kangaroos.
