BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Casey Barragan (Jr., Commerce, Calif./La Serna) of Division III No. 5-ranked Augustana College contributed 10 goals, 15 drawn exclusions and an assist over the span of four games at the Claremont Convergence to earn status as the March 4 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Player of the Week.

A six-time (February 13, February 20, March 6, March 20, April 3 and April 24) Rookie of the Week and five-time (February 20, March 6, April 3, April 24, May 8) Player of the Week honoree during the 2023 season at Augustana after transferring from Fresno State University, Barragan adds her third Player of the Week accolade of the 2024 season as she previously garnered recognition last week on February 12 and shared February 19 kudos with teammate Charlotte Newport (Jr., Baytown, Texas/Ross S. Sterling).

On Friday, March 1, she opened the weekend by dishing out an assist and drawing three exclusions against the California Institute of Technology in a 15-12 victory at Occidental College’s De Mandel Pool Aquatics Center prior to notching five goals, a steal, six drawn exclusions and a field block in a 9-8 loss at Division III No. 4 Chapman University.

She concluded the weekend by chipping in two goals and four drawn exclusions to key the Vikings to an 11-8 win at Occidental prior to adding three goals and two drawn exclusions in a 15-9 defeat by Fresno Pacific University on Sunday, March 3.
