BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Lizzie Pelzman (So., Roseville, Calif./Roseville) of Division III No. 5-ranked Augustana College made 49 saves with five steals during a 2-2 weekend at the Claremont Convergence to earn recognition as the March 6 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III co-Defensive Player of the Week.

The award marks the fifth Defensive Player of the Week nod during Pelzman’s intercollegiate tenure as she garnered the February 21 and March 7 honors during the 2022 season prior to collecting the February 13 accolade and February 20 co-nod earlier this season.

On Friday, March 3, she turned aside 16 shots as the Vikings raided a 9-7 win over Division III No. 6 Chapman University and stopped 14 shots with a steal in a 21-13 loss to Division III No. 2 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges.  She capped off the weekend by notching seven saves and a pair of steals in a 13-4 loss to Division III No. 4 California Lutheran University before notching 12 saves with two steals in a 14-11 victory over Division III No. 10 Occidental College.
