BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Lizzie Pelzman (Jr., Roseville, Calif./Roseville) of Division III No. 5-ranked Augustana College made 23 saves with five steals in a pair of games at the 2024 Claremont Convergence to claim status as the March 4 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Defensive Player of the Week.
The award marks the ninth Defensive Player of the Week nod during Pelzman’s intercollegiate tenure as she garnered the February 21 and March 7 honors during the 2022 season prior to collecting nods on February 13, February 20, March 6, April 24 and May 8 in 2023. Earlier this season, she was recognized as the February 12 Defensive Player of the Week.
She made 12 saves and corralled five steals during a 9-8 loss to host/Division III No. 4 Chapman University on Friday, March 1, before swatting down 11 scoring tries in an 11-8 victory at Occidental College on Saturday, March 2.
