BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalkeeper Erin McCormack (Jr., Orlando, Fla./Winter Park) of Division III No. 6-ranked Austin College made 30 saves and allowed 13 goals over the span of four Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III-West Region games at Augustana College during a 3-0 weekend. For her performance, McCormack claims status as the March 20 Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Defensive Player of the Week.
A two-time Defensive Player of the Week selection following prior recognition on February 9 earlier this season, she began the weekend in Rock Island, Ill., by turning aside 11 shots and dishing out an assist during a 10-2 defeat of Wittenberg University on Saturday, March 18. She added nine saves and two steals in a 7-6 nailbiter versus Macalester College later in the day before turning aside 10 shots with a pair of steals in a 9-5 victory over Division III No. 7 Augustana College on Sunday, March 19.
