BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Annie Ward (Jr., San Rafael, Calif./Marin Catholic) of No. 15-ranked Boston College tallied 19 goals during a 4-0 weekend for the Eagles during the opening weekend of league competition to earn status as the February 24 Women’s Collegiate Club New England Division Player of the Week.
Competing at the Upper Valley Aquatics Center in White River Junction, Vt., during a tournament hosted by Dartmouth College, she factored in all four victories for Boston College.
She opened the weekend by burying six strikes in an 11-4 defeat of Boston University prior to punching in six more strikes in a 23-4 victory over the host Big Green. Ward closed out the weekend by scoring five times in a 14-5 win over Northeastern University prior to the Eagles downing Wesleyan University by a 5-0 forfeit. Competing against Wesleyan for an extra-playing opportunity, she scored twice in the non-countable game.
