2024 Brown University Men’s Water Polo Schedule

PROVIDENCE, R.I.  – Brown University Director of Water Polo Felix Mercado announced the institution’s 2024 men’s water polo schedule. The slate features 15 home games for the Bears, including two weekend tournaments.

Brown will begin play with the Bruno Classic on September 7 and 8, taking on Fordham University, University of the Pacific, California Baptist University and the United States Air Force Academy over the weekend.

“We are extremely excited for our upcoming season,” said Mercado. “The Bruno Classic will have us play two potential top 10 teams in the country off the bat and we are up for the challenge. I look forward to seeing this team rise to the level we will need to compete in a very tough conference.”

The Bears will make their first trip out west for games against Biola University and Long Beach State University on September 14.

Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) games begin on October 5 as Brown will travel to Princeton University and Long Island University before playing at Iona on October 6. The Bears will remain on the road for conference games against the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University on October 12.

Brown’s home NWPC schedule will take place the first two weekends of November with Brown hosting Harvard and MIT on November 3, Iona University on November 9 along with Princeton and Long Island on November 10.

The Bears will also host games against MIT and Johns Hopkins University on September 28, and Fordham on November 16. Brown will host games as part of the Harvard Invitational against Mount St. Mary’s University, the United States Naval Academy, San Jose State University and Mercyhurst University on October 19 and 20.

On October 26 and 27, Brown will play in the Julian Fraser Memorial hosted by Santa Clara University. The Bears will play California Baptist University, Fresno Pacific University and Santa Clara over the weekend.

The NWPC Tournament will be hosted by Princeton on November 22-24 with the winner advancing to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship tournament.
