BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Brown University’s Department of Athletics is seeking applicants for a Men’s Water Polo Volunteer Coach.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the head and assistant coaches in daily operations; assisting in all aspects of coaching in practices and games; assisting in overall program planning and organization; assisting with video analysis and other duties assigned by the head coach.
All department coaches and staff are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA, Ivy League and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the department are to be reported to the appropriate parties. Employees in coaching positions are required to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification Test and maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Athletic Department).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Competitive collegiate playing experience, or similar, preferred
- Excellent communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Self-starter and ability to multi-task with attention to detail
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to provide skill instruction and leadership
