BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Lauren Burns (Jr., Long Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson) of Brown University posted 10 saves with a .714 save percentage to lead the Bears to a 6-4 victory over No. 22-ranked Marist College at home in the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center. For her efforts, Burns earns the April 22 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week award.
A two-time 2019 Defensive Player of the Week selection following an earlier honor on March 25, she totaled her ninth double-figure save performance of the season.
Burns made four stops in the third quarter and turned aside a five-meter penalty shot to limit the Red Foxes to pairs of goals in each half.
