LEWISBURG, Pa — Bucknell University Senior Associate Director of Athletics Todd Newcomb and 2025 Bucknell Athletics Hall of Fame inductee/former women’s water polo athlete Valentina Rozas Moreno ’10 were guests on The Exit Interview podcast hosted by Kisha Imani Cameron and former Bison water polo player Shana Ayabe ’10..
A league Most Valuable Player, three-time All-America selection and four-time All-Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) honoree Moreno became the first Bucknell Hall of Fame member from the sport of women’s water polo upon her induction in October 2025.
A 2008, 2009 and 2010 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Honorable Mention All-America selection, a four-time (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010) All-Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Southern Region selection and the 2008 CWPA Most Valuable Player. she graduated with 232 goals on 571 shots, 99 assists, 331 points and 293 ejections drawn.
The 2010 Bison Award recipient – presented to Bucknell senior-athletes “who best exemplify the winning sport of the University’s athletics program”, Moreno helped the Bison to their first-ever CWPA Southern Division championship and a school-record 26 wins as a senior in 2010.
During her time in Lewisburg (Pa.), the Bison finished first (2010), second (2008), third (2007) and fourth (2009) in the CWPA Southern Division prior to claiming fifth (2010), sixth (2008), seventh (2007) and eighth (2009) place marks at the Eastern Championship.
A native of Pico Rivera, Calif. and a graduate of El Rancho High School, her 232 goals are second-most in team history, just five off the record, and her 331 career points rank fifth all-time. Moreno held a share of the school record with seven goals in a game, and her career-high 73 goals in 2009 are third-most in team history.
