BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Bucknell University men’s and women’s water polo head coach/United States National Team assistant coach John McBride and Brown University men’s water polo assistant coach Jake Ehrhardt supported the United States of America to a 26-6 defeat of host Singapore in both teams’ final Group C game at the 2025 World Aquatics World Championship hosted by the Republic of Singapore.

Team USA, which previously dispatched Canada (18-9 W) on Saturday, July 12, and Brazil (16-7 W) on Monday, July 14, finishes Group C competition with a perfect 3-0 mark to claim a bye – along with the champions of Group A (Italy), B (Spain) and D (Croatia) – to the quarterfinals of the World Championship.  The Americans will return to the water at 7:10 a.m. Eastern/4:10 a.m. Pacific on Sunday, July 20, against an opponent to be determined.

Versus Singapore, Ehrhardt – who competed against both Canada and Brazil – was not among the active athletes for a United States squad which outscored the host nation 4-0, 4-2, 10-2 and 8-2 in the first, second, third and fourth quarters, respectively, to hand the home team its third defeat in Group C.
