LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell University women’s water polo team head coach John McBride announced the signing of four student-athletes to the class of 2026, Bella Schraa, Aliyah Cohen, Anna Plante and Gwen Kallmeyer will join the Orange and Blue for the Spring 2023 season.  

Below is more information on each signee for the upcoming season.  
 
Bella SchraaBella Schraa (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich)

Before Bucknell: Lettered four years in water polo and a single year in swimming at Greenwich High School…helped lead the Big Red to an undefeated season in 2021 while being the top scorer for the team…member of Northeast Development Zone Team and Cadet Zone Team for ODP…alternate for 2021 Youth National Team…earned 2021 Greenwich Athletic Scholar Award…2021 First Team NISCA First Team All-America…two-year co-captain…played club for Greenwich Aquatics…helped Greenwich Aquatics to place third at 2021 Futures Tournament.  
 
Personal: Isabella Sophia Schraa…born on 8/26/2004 in New York City…has one sibling, Malena.  


Gwen KallmeyerGwen Kallmeyer (Mill Valley, Calif./Redwood)

Before Bucknell:  Four-year letterwinner in both water polo and swimming at Redwood High School…All-MCAL Second Team in 2018, First-Team selection from 2019-21…2021 team captain…two-time team MVP…earned NCS Scholastic Award in 2018 and 2021… as member of swimming program, named most improved in 2019…helped team to MCAL Championship in 2022…state relay finalist in both 2019 and 2022…member of Sleepy Hollow Aquatics club for both water polo and swimming.
 
Personal: Gwen Elizabeth Kallmeyer…born on 5/11/2003 in Greenbrae…has two siblings, Olivia and Schuyler…Father David Kallmeyer was a member of the Ohio State University men’s soccer program from 1984-86.  


Anna PlanteAnna Plante (Mill Valley, Calif./Tamalpais)

Before Bucknell:  Letterwinner in both water polo and swimming at Tamalpais…team captain and all-league selection in water polo…named NCS Scholar-Athlete in both water polo and swimming…helped team to NorCal State DIII Championship in 2019 as well as an NCS DII Championship…member of team that won the MCAL in 2021…drew 17 ejections in 2021…team went undefeated in MCAL play in both 2020 and 2021…also went undefeated in swimming in 2021.  
 
Personal: Anna Kirby Plante…born on 1/1/2004 in Greenbrae…is a member of a documentary film program at Tam High in its Academy of Integrated Media Studies, where she works on documentary films on local issues in the San Francisco Bay Area…practiced swimming and water polo in the Pacific Ocean and the Bay when pools were closed to training due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  


Aliyah CohenAliyah Cohen (Coral Gables, Fla./Corona Del Mar (Calif.))

Before Bucknell: Lettered in water polo at Corona Del Mar High School, where she was named an All-Academic with Outstanding Honors in both 2020-21 and 2021-22…Member of USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program National Team Selection Camp in 2021…Helped Corona Del Mar to a 2022 CIF-SS Division I Championship…at Ransom Everglades School in Florida, helped team to 2019 FHSAA state, regional, and district championship…also member of golf team at Ransom, helping team to 2018 regional and district championship…played club for SOCAL Water Polo and USA Water Polo ODP Team.  

Personal:  Aliyah Sophie Cohen…Born on 5/22/2003 in Miami…moved to California in the summer of 2020 to join a water polo academy and trained there until the summer of 2021…attended Corona Del Mar to continue training while living alone in the 2021-22 school year.
