FUKUOKA, Japan — Former Lindenwood University athlete Hanna Muller and Bucknell University’s Boati Motau (Jr., Johannesburg, South Africa/Roedean School South Africa) were unable to help South Africa overcome Greece as the squad fell to Greece by a 24-2 final score in both teams’ opening game of Group C competition at the 20th World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan.

Muller notched a steal, but did not record a shot in 23:58 of playing time.  Motau shot zero-for-one in 15:37 of action as Greece outscored South Africa 7-1, 6-1, 6-0 and 5-0 in the first-to-fourth quarters, respectively, to run away with the contest.

Muller, Motau and the rest of the South Africa squad will return to the water and Group C competition at 11:00 p.m. Eastern on Monday, July 17, against Italy.
