BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Bucknell University goalie Georgia Lewis (Fr., Redwood, Calif./The Castilleja School) made 25 saves during a 3-1 opening weekend for the Bison at Brown University’s Bruno Classic to snag accolades as the February 4 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Defensive Player of the Week.
Competing in her first intercollegiate games, Lewis turned aside three shots in an 11-3 defeat of Siena College, added nine more in an 11-7 victory over No. 20-ranked Marist College and stopped 13 shots in a 10-8 loss to No. 16 Wagner College. In addition, Bucknell defeated La Salle University by a 16-6 final score.
