BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Paige Furano (Fr., Stamford, Conn./The Ursuline School) of No. 24-ranked Bucknell University scored 10 goals and added 11 assists during a 2-1 weekend for the Bison to post accolades as the April 1 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I co-Player and co-Rookie of the Week.

Furano, who shares Player of the Week honors with Kristen Hong (Sr., Orinda, Calif./Miramonte) of No. 14 Harvard University and Rookie of the Week laurels with Laura Larkin (Fr., Solana Beach, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) of No. 18 Princeton University, becomes the second member of her family to garner the league’s Player of the Week award as sister Ally Furano (So., Stamford, Conn./The Ursuline School) earned recognition on February 4 and March 11.

Competing at George Washington University in a series of non-conference games on Saturday-Sunday, March 30-31, Paige Furano helped the Bison top the host Colonials (11-7 W) and Saint Francis University (16-8 W) with a loss to Harvard (15-13 L).

She opened the weekend with four assists and an ejection drawn in the defeat of George Washington prior to racking up three goals, five assists, three steals and four ejections drawn versus Saint Francis.

Facing Harvard, she found the back of the cage seven times to accompany two assists as she factored in nine of her team’s 13 goals against the Crimson.  Furano’s seven goal performance tied Bucknell’s single-game record and marked the fifth seven-goal performance in team history.
