BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Goalie Sammi Tovani (Sr., Danville, Calif.) of No. 2-ranked California Polytechnic State University made 15 saves during a 3-0 weekend for the Mustangs on the road at California State University-Long Beach during the opening weekend of Women’s Collegiate Club Pacific Coast Division competition. For her effort, Tovani is named the February 17 Women’s Collegiate Club Pacific Coast Division Player of the Week.
He led the Mustangs to victories over No. 7 University of California-Santa Barbara “A” (10-3 W), host Long Beach State (21-5 W) and UC-Santa Barbara “B” (15-1 W) by contributing eight, four and three saves, respectively.
