MONMOUTH, Ill. — The Carthage College split a pair of games on the first day of the final Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III regular season weekend. Allie Boothe‘s four goals propelled the Lady Reds over Grove City College 12-7, while Jessica Graziano contributed four in a 9-5 loss to Division III No. 10-ranked Connecticut College.
Against Grove City, Boothe paced all players in the contest with four goals, while Mae Van Beest followed with three. Morgan Fingerson was a force on both ends of the pool with two goals and four steals in the contest. Graziano contributed two goals for the Lady Reds, while Lauren Patt‘s goal rounded out the scorers.
Carthage goalkeeper Emma Jeronimus came up big with 24 saves in the contest. Jeronimus also dished four assists.
Abby Spicher paced the Wolverines with a hat trick.
Taking on the Camels of Connecticut, Graziano carried the Lady Reds on her shoulders with four goals. Van Beest tacked on a goal to round out the Carthage scorers. Jeronimus turned away 12 shots in net for the Lady Reds.
Stephania Lopez led all scorers in the contest with six goals for Connecticut College, while Ginny McCool tallied one.
