BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Megan Cales (Fr., New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) punched in 17 goals with four assists and a steal during a 1-2 weekend for Carthage College at the Macalester College Invitational to earn recognition as the February 24 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Rookie of the Week.
A first-time weekly honor recipient from the league office, Cales opened the season for Carthage by posting six and seven goals versus three-time defending CWPA Champion/Division III No. 7-ranked Macalester (12-10 L) and Monmouth College (13-11 W), respectively, while also tacking on three assists, two steals and three ejections drawn on Saturday, February 22.
She concluded the weekend by recording four goals with an assist and an ejection drawn in a 22-9 defeat by Division III No. 5 University of La Verne on Sunday, February 23.
