LEBANON, Ill. — McKendree University continued the institution’s weekly series on the Bearcat Sports Network, “Catching Up with Coach…” by talking with McKendree University head men’s and women’s water polo coach Colleen Lischwe.

In the video, she covers a wide range of subjects. She discusses her love for the sport of water polo, handling the moments following the cancellation of the women’s 2020 season due to COVID-19, and her involvement in several campus organizations and initiatives including the AntiRacism and Allyship groups as well as the formation of the Women’s Mentorship Program.

Head coach of both the men’s and women’s varsity water polo teams at McKendree who also oversees the club program, Lischwe ascended to the lead position after serving as the program’s graduate assistant in its inaugural year.  Named head coach for the women’s water polo program in February 2017 prior to also taking over the men’s team in June 2018, she is joined by Mount St. Mary’s University’s Alyssa Diacono as the only female head coaches of men’s National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) water polo programs.
