2019 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches Women’s Division III All-America Team (PDF)

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — 15 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) student-athletes earned recognition on the 2019 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) Women’s Division III All-America Team.

2017, 2018 and 2019 CWPA Division III Champion Macalester College leads the way with three selections, while 2019 CWPA Division III Championship runner-up Austin College, Carthage College, Connecticut College and Grove City College tallied pairs. Monmouth College (one), Penn State Behrend (one), Utica College (one) and Wittenberg University (one) complete the league’s honorees as nine of the CWPA’s 10 Division III institutions earned at least one award.

Leading the league’s selections is four-time All-America honoree Lucille Moran (Sr., Ann Arbor, Mich./Huron) of Macalester who collects her third Second Team nod following previous Second (2017, 2018) and Honorable Mention (2016) laurels. 

She is joined on the Second Team by two-time All-America recipient Stephania Lopez (So., Chicago, Ill./St. Ignatius College Prep) of Connecticut College who also notched Second Team status in 2018.  Further, a pair of CWPA athletes register their inaugural All-America awards on the Second Team as Lexi Wong (Fr., Lantana, Texas/Guyer) of Austin and Becca Dabrowski (Sr., McHenry, Ill./West) of Monmouth join Lopez and Moran.

The CWPA’s other 11 selections all earned Honorable Mention status.

Utica goalie Michalyn Winkler (Sr., Barto, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) snags her second All-America nod following Honorable Mention accolades in 2018, while Carthage goalie Emma Jeronimus (Jr., Hoffman Estates, Ill./Fremd) snags her first award. 

Cara Mullery (Jr., Palmetto Bay, Fla./MAST Academy) of Macalester (2017 Honorable Mention, 2018 Honorable Mention) becomes a three-time All-America pick, while Tessa Leatherwood (So., Hurst, Texas/Covenant Christian Academy) of Grove City (2018 Honorable Mention) and Oriano Galasso (Jr., Gresham, Ore./Central Catholic) (2018 Honorable Mention) notch their Second All-America awards.

Brooke Le (Fr., Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound) of Austin, Maddi Marsh (So., Irvine, Calif./Arnold O. Beckman) of Carthage College, Brooklynn Hayes (So., Granville, Mass./Suffield Academy) of Connecticut College, Elizabeth Andrews (Jr., Newberg, Ore./Newberg (Veritas School)) of Grove City, Lauren Wood (Sr., Vernon Hills, Ill./Vernon Hills) of Penn State Behrend and Savannah Phillips (Jr., San Diego, Calif./Grossmont) of Wittenberg complete the league’s recognized athletes as the sextet post their first All-America honors.

The total of 15 athletes marks an increase of five awards over the league’s 10 selections in 2018 and a rise of nine from the CWPA’s six selections in 2017.

The ACWPC All-America teams are selected based on nominations and voting by the head coach of each program by National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division (Division I, II, III).

Since 2005, the mission of the ACWPC is to promote the development and advancement of collegiate water polo. This shall be accomplished by providing its membership with professional education, services, training and a united voice.
