BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) mourns the passing of Western Washington University women’s water polo coach Maddie Hurd during a single-vehicle accident on Wednesday, February 20.
Collegiate Water Polo Association Commissioner Dan Sharadin released the following statement:
“I was saddened to hear the news about Madeline,” stated . Water polo is a tightly knit group and this tragedy will have a lasting impact on many individuals involved in our conference and the sport as a whole. Our condolences go out to her family and the entire Western Water Polo community.”
