BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2018 Women’s Varsity Week 11/March 28 National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top 10 and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.
Defending National Champion Stanford University, which ranked at No. 1 from the Preseason balloting until tying with the University of California three weeks ago, falling behind the Golden Bears two weeks ago and retying for the No. 1 spot seven days ago, picks up 98 points to once again reign unequaled as the top squad in the National Top 25
Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (Division III), the University of Michigan (CWPA Top 10) and Macalester College (CWPA Division III Top Five) retain top-billing in their respective rankings.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), the Golden Coast Conference, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Big West Conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the CWPA based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls are compiled and released on Wednesday during the season through the week following the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship.
2018 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 11)
Defending National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Champion Stanford University reclaims sole custody of the No. 1 position in the the Week 11/March 28 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.
Stanford (98 points), which was tied with the University of California (96 points) for the No. 1 position last week, leads a Top 25 in which the positions No. 3-to-14 remain unchanged with the University of Southern California (93 points), the University of California-Los Angeles (88 points), the University of Hawaii (84 points), Arizona State University (80 points), the University of California-Irvine (74 points), University of the Pacific (71 points), the University of Michigan (69 points), the University of California-Davis (65 points), the University of California-San Diego (58 points), Hartwick College (54 points), Indiana University (51 points) and Long Beach State University (48 points) holding at their previous berths.
Princeton University (42 points) and Loyola Marymount University (42 points) move into a tie at No. 15, while the University of California-Santa Barbara (35 points) and Wagner College (35 points) stand as equals at No. 17.
California State University-Northridge (26 points) moves ahead of San Jose State University (24 points) to take over at No. 19, with San Diego State University (21 points), Harvard University (17 points), California Baptist University (9 points), Marist College (5 points) and Bucknell University (4 points) completing the Top 25.

2018 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 11)
Pomona-Pitzer Colleges remains the top team in Division III as the Sagehens once again rank at No. 1 in the Week 11/March 28 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll.
The Sagehens (100 points) lead a Division III Top 10 which experiences changes throughout the rankings.
California Lutheran University (91 points) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (91 points) enter a tie at No. 2, while Chapman University (82 points) takes over at No. 4 from Whittier College (78 points).
The University of La Verne (77 points) and the University of Redlands (69 points) remain at No. 6 and 7 with Macalester College (66 points) and Occidental College (50 points) rising and falling to No. 8 and 9.
Monmouth College (46 points) completes the Top 10.

The Top 10 remains unchanged from the Week 9/March 14 and Week 10/March 21 voting as Michigan (100 points), Hartwick College (95 points), Indiana University (90 points), Princeton University (85 points), Harvard University (80 points), Bucknell University (74 points), Brown University (71 points), George Washington University (65 points), Saint Francis University (60 points) and Macalester College (55 points) retain their previous berths at No. 1-to-10.

Macalester College, which captured the 2017 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Championship, remains at No. 1 in the Week 11/March 28 CWPA Division III Top Five Poll.
Macalester (100 points), Monmouth College (94 points), Connecticut College (90 points) and Carthage College (69 points) remain at No. 1-to-4, while Grove City College (49 points) cracks the rankings at No. 5.
