BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Defending National Champion the University of California-Davis retains the No. 1 ranking to open the 2019 season as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the Women’s National Collegiate Club Preseason Top 20 and inaugural Division III Top 10 Polls.
2019 Women’s Club National Top 20 (Preseason)
The Aggies of the University of California-Davis (100 points) remain the unanimous top-ranked team in the Preseason 2019 Women’s Collegiate Club Top 20 Poll after downing California Polytechnic State University by a 5-4 score on May 6 at the 2018 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship hosted by the University of Washington at the Mt. Hood Community College Aquatics Center in Gresham, Oregon.
The 2019 rankings mirror the final 2018 standings as Cal Poly (95 points), the University of California-Los Angeles (87 points), the University of Florida (85 points), the University of California (83 points), Lindenwood University (72 points), the University of California-San Diego (68 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (66 points), The Ohio State University (60 points) and the Washington (54 points) conclude the Top 10.
The University of California-Santa Cruz (48 points), Boston College (44 points), the University of Oregon (41 points), Pennsylvania State University (31 points) and San Diego State University (29 points) stand at No. 11-to-15, while the quintet of the University of Michigan (25 points), the University of Notre Dame (13 points), the University of Southern California (10 points), Grand Valley State University (9 points) and Cornell University (7 points) account for the remainder of the preseason Top 20.

2019 Women’s Club Division III National Top 10 (Preseason)
Due to the creation of the Women’s Division III Collegiate Club Championship, the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) launches the inaugural Women’s Division III National Top 10 Poll.
Washington University in St. Louis (93 points) becomes the first team to hold the Division III No. 1 ranking as the Bears edge out Tufts University (91 points) for the top spot. It ranks the second No. 1 ranking of the year for Washington (Mo.) as the men’s club team claimed the program’s sixth overall and fifth consecutive Men’s Division III Collegiate Club Championship during the Fall.
Hartwick College (85 points), which moves to the club ranks after competing as a varsity program, comes in at No. 3 with the University of California-Santa Cruz (84 points) and New York University (82 points) rounding out the Top Five.
Grinnell College (75 points), Wellesley College (74 points), Carnegie Mellon University (63 points), Carleton College (58 points) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (46 points) rate at No. 6-to-10.
