2021 Men’s Collegiate Club Big Ten Division Schedule
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2021 Men’s Collegiate Club Big Ten Division schedule.
Comprised of Indiana University, Michigan State University, Purdue University, The Ohio State University, the University of Illinois, the University of Iowa, the University of Michigan and the University of Wisconsin, the Big Ten Division will contest its 11th season in the CWPA. Historically, Michigan State (2010, 2014, 2019), Michigan (2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018) and Indiana (2013) have all previously claimed the division crown since the group elected to join the league prior to the 2010 season. The 2020 season was not contested due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Competition begins on Saturday-Sunday, October 2-3, with a pair of tournaments as Wisconsin hosts eight games in Madison, Wisc., while Ann Arbor, Mich., is the site for eight games at Michigan.
The regular season comes to a close with 16-games at Purdue In West Lafayette, Ind., on Saturday-Sunday, October 9-10, to establish the final seeds for the 12-game Big Ten Division Championship on Saturday-Sunday, October 30-31, at Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
The Big Ten Division champion earns an automatic berth to the 2021 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship slated to be hosted by the University of Alabama at the Huntsville Aquatic Center in Huntsville, Ala., on Friday-Sunday, November 12-14. In addition, the team which finishes third in the division earns the opportunity to compete in the newly established National Invitational on Friday-Sunday, December 3-5, at a site to be determined against teams that claimed the top spot in the lower half of their divisions.
