BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2021 Men’s Collegiate Club Top 20 and Division III Top 10 Preseason Polls.
Released each week during the season, the Top 20 and Division III Top 10 polls have no bearing on qualifiers for either the National Collegiate Club Championship or the Division III Collegiate Club Championship.
2021 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 (Preseason)
2019 Men’s National Collegiate Club Champion the University of Southern California rates at No. 1 as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2021 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 Preseason rankings.
Due to the loss of five-time National Collegiate Club Champion (2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, 2019) and three-time Division III Club Champion (2006, 2007, 2008) Lindenwood University which will not compete this season, USC (100 points) ascends to No. 1 following a 2020 season lost to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The poll follows the final voting of 2019 as the University of California-San Diego (94 points), the University of Utah (91 points), the University of Florida (83 points) and Michigan State University (71 points) complete the Top Five.
California Polytechnic State University (68 points) and California State University Maritime Academy (68 points) are tied at No. 6, while Pennsylvania State University (62 points), San Diego State University (61 points) and the University of Texas (52 points) round out the Top 10.
The University of California (49 points), Boston College (46 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (38 points), the University of California-Los Angeles (36 points), the University of Michigan (32 points), the University of Notre Dame (26 points) and The Ohio State University (17 points) rate at No. 11-to-17, while the United States Military Academy (12 points) and California State University-Chico (12 points) are tied at No. 18.
The United States Naval Academy (9 points) completes the Top 20.
The 2021 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship will be decided at the Huntsville Aquatic Center in Huntsville, Ala., on Friday-Sunday, November 12-14.

2021 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 (Preseason)
Seven-time defending Division III Collegiate Club National Champion Washington University in St. Louis remains the top pick as the Bears are the unanimous No. 1 selection in the 2021 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 Preseason Poll.
The 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 Division III Collegiate Club Champion, Washington in St. Louis (100 points) holds a five-point lead over the runner-up in the preseason rankings, New York University (95 points).
The United States Coast Guard Academy (90 points), three-time National Champion (2011, 2013, 2014) the University of California-Santa Cruz (83 points) and Bates College (78 points) complete the Top Five.
Macalester College (74 points) stands at No. 6 with Grinnell College (68 points) and Carnegie Mellon University (68 points) tied at No. 7.
Tufts University (64 points) and Colby College (33 points) complete the Top 10.
The 2021 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club Championship Men’s Division III Collegiate Club Championship is slated for Saturday-Sunday, October 30-31, at a site to be determined.
