2021 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the league’s 2021 Women’s Division I schedule following approval by the administrators at Bucknell University, Mount St. Mary’s University, Saint Francis University and the University of Michigan.

The Division I ranks in the CWPA will be comprised of four teams in 2021 as Brown University, Harvard University and Princeton University opted out per directives from the Ivy League, while George Washington University also elected not to compete as the institution will eliminate women’s water polo following the 2020-21 academic year.

The league regular season is comprised of three weekends at four sites.

Action commences on Saturday, March 20, as Bucknell hosts Michigan and Mount St. Mary’s University in Lewisburg, Pa., at Kinney Natatorium for three games.  The weekend concludes in Loretto, Pa., as Saint Francis welcomes Mount St. Mary’s and Michigan for three games on Sunday, March 21, at the Stokes Natatorium.

Competition returns to Bucknell on Sunday, April 11, as Michigan and Saint Francis come to Kinney Natatorium for three games.

A week later, the Bison and Saint Francis travel South to Emmitsburg, Md., and the campus of Mount St. Mary’s for a three-game set at the Knott Athletic Recreation Convocation Complex.

The regular season results establish the seeding for the 2021 CWPA Division I Championship set for Saturday, April 24, at Michigan’s Canham Natatorium in Ann Arbor, Mich.

The victor of the CWPA Championship earns the league’s automatic bid to the 2021 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Women’s Water Polo Championship set for May 14-16 at the University of California-Los Angeles’ Spieker Aquatics Center in Los Angeles.
