BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2022 Women’s Collegiate Club Pacific Coast Division schedule.

Featuring California Polytechnic State University “A” (Cal Poly “A”), California Polytechnic State University “B” (Cal Poly “B”), the University of California-Irvine (UC-Irvine), the University of California-Los Angeles “A” (UCLA “A”), the University of California-Los Angeles “B” (UCLA “B”), the University of California-Santa Barbara “A” (UC-Santa Barbara “A”), the University of California-Santa Barbara “B” (UC-Santa Barbara “B”) and the University of Southern California (USC), the eight-team division will contest two weekends of regular season competition.

Action begins on Saturday-Sunday, February 26-27, at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, Calif., with 14 games.  The regular season concludes on Saturday-Sunday, April 2-3, in Los Angeles as USC hosts eight games on April 2 prior to UCLA hosting the final eight on April 3.

The regular season tournaments establish the seeding for the Pacific Coast Division Championship on April 23-24 at UCLA. The victor of the tournament advances to the 2022 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship at a site to be determined.

In the history of the division, Cal Poly has been the dominant presence as the Mustangs claimed 17 crowns (1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019) and seven National Collegiate Club Championships (2003, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011).  UCLA (2001) and USC (2004) both hold single divisional titles, while UC-Santa Barbara captured the 2015 and 2016 Pacific Coast Championship along with the 2016 National Championship.

A Pacific Coast Division champion was not crowned during either the 2020 or 2021 seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic terminating completion and start of the campaigns, respectively.
