BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2023 Men’s Collegiate Club Top 20 and Division III Top 10 Week 2/September 28 Polls.

Released each week during the season, the Top 20 and Division III Top 10 polls have no bearing on qualifiers for either the National Collegiate Club Championship or the Division III Collegiate Club Championship.

2023 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 (Week 2)

2022 Men’s National Collegiate Club Champion the University of California-San Diego gains company at No. 1 as California Polytechnic State University and the University of California pull even with the Tritons as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the Week 2/September 28 Men’s Collegiate Club National Top 20 rankings for the 2023 season.

UC-San Diego (93 points), Cal Poly (93 points) and California (93 points) pull into a three-way tie for the top spot after ranking No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4, respectively, in the Week 1 balloting.  The University of Colorado (73 points), San Diego State University (72 points), Dartmouth College (70 points) and the University of Florida (66 points) take over at No. 4-to-7 with Texas A&M University (63 points) and the University of California-Los Angeles (63 points) tying at No. 8.

Villanova University (52 points) completes a new look Top 10 as four teams move into the upper echelon of the Top 20.

The United States Military Academy (51 points) and McKendree University (51 points) both fall one point shy of tying Villanova to break into the Top 10, while Boston College (41 points), the University of Texas (38 points), the University of Utah (31 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (28 points), the University of Washington (25 points), the University of Michigan (17 points), the University of Oregon (10 points) and Washington University in St. Louis (7 points) follow the trend in a radically changed Top 20 to rise and fall in standing at No. 13-to-20.

The 2023 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship will be decided at the Kearns Oquirrh Park Fitness Center on Friday-Sunday, November 10-12.

2023 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 (Week 2)

Carnegie Mellon University takes over at No. 1 in the 2023 Men’s Division III Collegiate Club National Top 10 Week 2/September 28 Poll.

Carnegie Mellon (98 points) – which was ranked at No. 9 last week – climbs the rankings following the opening weekend of competition in the Mid-Atlantic Division.  Seven-time Division III Collegiate Club National Champion Washington University in St. Louis (97 points) slips back to No. 2 with Macalester College (86 points) and New York University (86 points) tying at No. 3.

Augustana College (80 points) cracks the Top Five at No. 5, while Tufts University (70 points) and Middlebury College (70 points) drop into a tie at No. 6.

Saint Olaf College (66 points), Amherst College (34 points) and Wesleyan University (34 points) complete the Division III Top 10.

Collegiate Water Polo Association
