2023 Women’s Collegiate Club Mid-Atlantic Division Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2023 Women’s Collegiate Club Mid-Atlantic Division schedule.

Comprised of Carnegie Mellon University, Pennsylvania State University “A”, Pennsylvania State University “B”, the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Pittsburgh “A”, the University of Pittsburgh “B” and West Chester University, the seven-team division will contest its 21st season in 2023.

Penn State (2001, 2005, 2011, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2022), the University of Maryland (2002), the University of Virginia (2003), Penn (2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010), Duke University (2012, 2013, 2014) and Pitt (2016, 2017) have previously claimed the division crown.  A Mid-Atlantic Division champion was not crowned during either the 2020 or 2021 seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic terminating the completion and start of the campaigns, respectively.

Competition begins during the weekend of Saturday-Sunday, February 25-26, at Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pa., as the Panthers host 14 games in the Steel City.  The regular season concludes a month later on Saturday-Sunday, March 25-26, with 14 games back in Pittsburgh at Carnegie Mellon.

The regular season results establish the seeding for the six-team, nine game Mid-Atlantic Division Championship on Saturday-Sunday, April 15-16, at West Chester in West Chester, Pa.  The championship field will be comprised of six teams as Carnegie Mellon elected to not compete at the event.

The victor of the Mid-Atlantic Division Championship earns the group’s automatic berth to the 2023 Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship on Friday-Sunday, May 5-7, at a site to be determined.
