2024 Men’s Collegiate Club Southeast Division Schedule
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2024 Men’s Collegiate Club Southeast Division schedule.
Comprised of Auburn University, the Georgia Institute of Technology “A”, the Georgia Institute of Technology “B”, the University of Alabama, the University of Georgia, the University of Kentucky, the University of South Carolina and the University of Tennessee, the division will contest its 24th season as part of the CWPA with the University of Florida (2000, 2001), Georgia Tech (2002, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2021), Florida International University (2004, 2005, 2006), Georgia (2010, 2013, 2015), Vanderbilt University (2012, 2014), Clemson University (2016) and Alabama (2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023) previously claiming titles. The 2020 season was not contested due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Competition begins on Saturday-Sunday, October 5-6, at Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Ala., with a 12-game tournament. Due to time constraints, games on October 5 will not utilize overtime and teams will be limited to one timeout per half. Contests on October 6 will use normal collegiate club rules.
The regular season concludes on Saturday-Sunday, October 12-13, as South Carolina in Columbia, S.C., hosts a 16-game event to establish the final seeds for the 12-game Southeast Division Championship on Saturday-Sunday, October 26-27, at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia.
Fans should be aware that games on October 12-13 at South Carolina will use five-minute quarters with neither overtime nor timeouts. Championship weekend competition on October 26-27 at Georgia Tech will use six-minute quarters with sudden death overtime and teams limited to one 30-second timeout per half.
The victor of the Southeast Division Championship claims a berth to the 2024 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship scheduled for Friday-Sunday, November 8-10, at a site to be determined.
