BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2024 Week 10/March 27 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.

The University of California-Los Angeles and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges continue at No. 1 in the National Top 25 and Division III Top 10, respectively, while Augustana College stays at the No. 1 position in the CWPA Division III Top Five voting.

The CWPA Division I Top Five experiences a change as the University of Michigan and Princeton University move into a tie for the lead position.

Voted on by a panel of coaches from the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), the Golden Coast Conference, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Big West Conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the CWPA based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls are compiled and released on Wednesdays during the season.

2024 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 10/March 27)

The University of California-Los Angeles continues to reign as a unanimous No. 1 selection in the 2024 Week 10/March 27 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.

UCLA (100 points) holds a six-point lead over the University of Hawaii (94 points) as the Rainbow Wahine ascend one position to take over at No. 2.  The University of Southern California (90 points) and Stanford University (90 points) follow Hawaii up the chart as the Trojans and Cardinal are now tied at No. 3, while previous runner-up the University of California (86 points) slips to No. 5.  Long Beach State University (75 points) and Loyola Marymount University (75 points) rate in a tie at No. 6, while the University of California-Irvine (74 points), Fresno State University (69 points) and Arizona State University (64 points) complete a new look Top 10 in which only UCLA retained its prior position.

The University of Michigan (61 points) slips out of the Top 10 to No. 11 with the duo of the University of California-San Diego (57 points) and the University of California-Davis (49 points) staying at No. 12 and 13, respectively.  Indiana University (44 points) slides around the University of California-Santa Barbara (43 points) to take over at No. 14 with UC-Santa Barbara and Princeton University (43 points) rating at No. 15 and 16.

San Jose State University (34 points) breaks a tie with Wagner College (32 points) at No. 17 to assume sole control of the berth.  Wagner, Harvard University (29 points), University of the Pacific (23 points), Long Island University (17 points), San Diego State University (13 points), Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (11 points), Brown University (10 points) and California State University-Northridge (9 points) complete the Top 25 by holding the No. 18-to-25 spots.

2024 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 10/March 27)

Pomona-Pitzer Colleges stays at No. 1 for another week in the 2024 Week 10/March 27 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll.

Pomona-Pitzer (100 points), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (95 points), Chapman University (89 points) and the University of La Verne (85 points) remain at No. 1-to-4, respectively, with California Lutheran University (78 points) and Augustana College (78 points) once again achieving at tie at No. 5.

Macalester College (69 points) breaks a tie with Austin College (50 points) at No. 7 to place the Scots and Kangaroos at No. 7 and 8.

The University of Redlands (49 points) and Whittier College (45 points) wrap-up the Week 10 Top 10 by exchanging the No. 9 and 10 slots.

2024 Women’s Varsity Collegiate Water Polo Association Top 5 (Week 10/March 27)

The lead position in the 2024 Week 10/March 27 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Top Five Poll changes this week as the University of Michigan and Princeton University share top billing.

2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 league champion Michigan (97 points) – which eclipsed 2000, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2023 league champion Princeton (97 points) last week by a single point (98-to-97) – sheds its advantage as the Wolverines and Tigers claw their way back into a deadlock in the league poll.

2022 and 2023 CWPA Championship runner-up Harvard University (91 points) and Brown University (85 points) remain at No. 3 and 4, while Bucknell University (48 points) cracks the Top Five after defeating Saint Francis University (32 points) last week.

2024 Women’s Varsity Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Top 5 (Week 10/March 27)

2023 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Champion Augustana College remains the top-ranked program in the 2024 Week 10/March 27 CWPA Division III Top Five Poll.

Following a weekend of league competition at Macalester College, the remainder of the Top Five experiences significant shifts with 2017, 2018 and 2019 CWPA Division III Champion Macalester (94 points) rising one position to take over in the runner-up spot behind the 2023 league champion Vikings (100 points).

2021 and 2022 champion Austin College (88 points) and 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 champion Connecticut College (88 points) fall and rise into a tie at No. 3 with Washington & Jefferson College (64 points) breaking into the Top Five by taking over from Carthage College (16 points).
