BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2024 Week 17/May 15/Final Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.

Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Champion the University of California-Los Angeles completes the 2024 season at No. 1 in the final rankings.

Voted on by a panel of coaches from the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), the MPSF, the Golden Coast Conference, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Big West Conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) based on the cumulative results of the season, the National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top 5 polls were compiled and released on Wednesdays during the season.

2024 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 17/May 15/Final)

The University of California-Los Angeles completes the season at No. 1 as the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Champion Bruins are a unanimous top selection in the 2024 Week 17/May 15/Final Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.

Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Champion UCLA (100 points) leads a season-concluding Top 25 which experiences minor changes throughout the rankings.  Behind the Bruins, NCAA Championship runner-up the University of California (95 points) and Big West Conference Champion the University of Hawaii (92 points) exchange the No. 2 and 3 spots with Stanford University (88 points) and the University of Southern California (83 points) remaining stagnant at No. 4 and 5.

Golden Coast Conference Champion Fresno State University (78 points) and Long Beach State University (78 points) move into a tie at No. 6 with the University of California-Irvine (72 points) and Loyola Marymount University (67 points) retaining the No. 8 and 9 berths.

Arizona State University (59 points) and Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Champion Princeton University (59 points) complete the most recent campaign by tying for the final spot in the Top 10.

Another tie occurs at No. 12 as Indiana University (59 points) and the University of California-San Diego (55 points) become equals to remain in front of the University of Michigan (50 points) and the University of California-Davis (43 points).

The University of California-Santa Barbara (36 points) rises two spots to tie with California State University-Northridge (36 points) at No. 16.

Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Champion Wagner College (34 points),  San Jose State University (26 points) and Brown University (23 points) rate at No. 18-to-20, while San Diego State University (19 points) and Harvard University (19 points) account for the fifth tie in the Top 25 by sharing the No. 21 spot.

University of the Pacific (15 points), Long Island University (9 points) and Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Champion Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (3 points) complete the Top 25.
