BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Water polo is a community of athletes, coaches, officials, administrators and fans who help keep the sport moving forward for the next generation of athletes and coaches.
As part of a continuing effort to help grow the sport, the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) actively seeks alumni to assist athletes/teams who are competing now through a variety of programs.
The league’s Alumni Initiative seeks to engage alumni of the sport/league to give back through officiating, coaching, mentoring and/or donating financially so that the athletes of today can have the experiences of competing in water polo similar to those who came before them.
In addition, the CWPA seeks mentors (past players/coaches/etc.) who are willing to offer their time, talents and wisdom to aid the current leaders of collegiate club programs.
The mentorship program is comprised of experienced alumni who led collegiate club programs and dealt with many of the issues that current teams experience – coordinating with the league and club sport offices, fundraising, recruiting and finding pool time.
To become part of the program as a mentor or as a program seeking help to reach the next level of success, contact Calianne Timothy, Director of Membership Services, in the CWPA office at membership@collegiatewaterpolo.org or 610-277-6787.
