BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2024 Week 2/January 31 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.
The University of Southern California and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges retain unanimous top billing in the Division I Top 25 and Division III 10 voting, respectively.
2023 CWPA Division III Champion Augustana College remains at No. 1 in the CWPA Division III Top Five Poll, while 2023 CWPA Division I Champion Princeton University acquires company at No. 1 in the CWPA Division I Top Five ranking as the University of Michigan ties the Tigers for the top spot.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), the Golden Coast Conference, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Big West Conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the CWPA based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls will be compiled and released on Wednesdays during the 2024 season.
2024 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 2/January 31)
The University of Southern California remains a unanimous No. 1 selection as the Trojans top the 2024 Week 2/January 31 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.
USC (100 points) holds a seven-point lead over the University of California (93 points) as the Golden Bears eclipse the University of California-Los Angeles (92 points) to take over at No. 2. UCLA falls back to No. 3 with the University of Hawaii (90 points) and Fresno State University (83 points) completing the Top Five.
The University of California-Irvine (78 points) and Stanford University (78 points) move into a tie at No. 6, while Princeton University (71 points), the University of California-San Diego (64 points) and the University of Michigan (55 points) move up one position to take over at No. 8-to-10.
Loyola Marymount University (56 points) rises eight positions to take over at No. 11. The University of California-Santa Barbara (55 points), Long Beach State University (54 points), Arizona State University (46 points) and Indiana University (42 points) rate at No. 12-to-15 with the University of California-Davis (39 points) and University of the Pacific (39 points) tying at No. 16.
Harvard University (33 points) and San Jose State University (31 points) back-up to No. 18 and 19 with Wagner College (27 points), Long Island University (17 points) and San Diego State University (14 points) standings at No. 20-to-22.
California State University-Northridge (12 points) and Biola University (12 points) are tied at No. 23 and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (6 points) completes the Week 2/January 31 Top 25.

Pomona-Pitzer (100 points) remains a unanimous top selection with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (95 points), California Lutheran University (90 points) and the University of Redlands (81 points) continuing at No. 2-to-4.
The University of La Verne (78 points) gains company to break-up an All-California Top Five as Augustana College (78 points) moves into a tie for the No. 5 spot.
Chapman University (72 points), Whittier College (63 points), Austin College (51 points) and Macalester College (34 points) wrap-up the Week 2/January 31 Division III Top 10.

Defending Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Champion Princeton University gains company at No. 1 in the 2024 Week 2/January 31 CWPA Division I Top Five Poll as the University of Michigan pulls even with the Tigers.
The 2000, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2023 league champion Tigers (97 points) and the 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 league champion Wolverines (97 points) are deadlocked atop the league poll following balloting for the Week 1/January 24 ranking which saw Princeton hold a 97-96 lead over Michigan.
2022 and 2023 CWPA Championship runner-up Harvard University (90 points), Brown University (64 points) and Saint Francis University (64 points) conclude the CWPA Division I Top Five.

The Vikings (99 points) fall one point shy of retaining their Week 1/January 24 status as a unanimous top pick and see their lead over 2021 and 2022 CWPA Division III Champion Austin College (93 points) shrink to six points.
2017, 2018 and 2019 CWPA Division III Champion Macalester College (91 points) hangs on at No. 3, while Connecticut College (85 points) and Carthage College (50 points) continue at No. 4 and 5.
