BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2024 Week 5/February 21 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.
The University of California-Los Angeles and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges continue at No. 1 in the National Top 25 and Division III Top 10, respectively, while the University of Michigan and Augustana College remain the leaders in the CWPA Division I and Division III voting, respectively, through five weeks of varsity competition.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), the Golden Coast Conference, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Big West Conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the CWPA based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls will be compiled and released on Wednesdays during the season.
2024 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 5/February 21)
The University of California-Los Angeles continues to reign as a unanimous No. 1 selection in the 2024 Week 5/February 21 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.
UCLA (100 points) expands its margin over runner-up the University of Hawaii (94 points) back to six points after holding 100-to-94 and 100-to-96 leads over the past two weeks. Fresno State University (93 points) is one point off the pace of the Rainbow Wahine to remain at No. 3, while Stanford University (86 points) retains the No. 4 position.
The University of Southern California (84 points) breaks at tie with the University of California (81 points) to acquire sole possession of the No. 5 berth this week, with the Golden Bears, Arizona State University (74 points), the University of Michigan (70 points), Princeton University (67 points) and the University of California-Irvine (66 points) completing the Top 10.
Loyola Marymount University (63 points) and Long Beach State University (57 points) hang on at No. 11 and 12, while the quartet of the University of California-Santa Barbara (43 points), Indiana University (43 points), the University of California-Davis (43 points) and the University of California-San Diego (45 points) tie at No. 13.
University of the Pacific (37 points) slides back to No. 17 with Wagner College (35 points), Harvard University (27 points) and Brown University (24 points) rating at No. 18-to-20.
Marist College (16 points) and Long Island University (16 points) tie at No. 21 to stand in front of San Jose State University (14 points), San Diego State University (10 points) and California State University-Northridge (6 points).

Pomona-Pitzer Colleges stays at No. 1 in the 2024 Week 5/February 21 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll.
Pomona-Pitzer (100 points) remains a unanimous top selection with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (95 points) and California Lutheran University (89 points) sticking at No. 2 and 3.
The University of Redlands (79 points) and Augustana College (79 points) move into a tie at No. 4, while Chapman University (75 points) and the University of La Verne (75 points) are equals at No. 6.
Austin College (63 points), Whittier College (62 points) and Macalester College (58 points) complete the Top 10.

The University of Michigan continues to hold the No. 1 position in the 2024 Week 5/February 21 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Top Five Poll.
2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 league champion Michigan (98 points) remains one point in front of 2000, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2023 league champion Princeton University (97 points) as the Maize & Blue and Tigers battle it out for supremacy in the CWPA.
2022 and 2023 CWPA Championship runner-up Harvard University (88 points), Brown University (87 points) and Saint Francis University (64 points) round out the Top Five.

2023 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Champion Augustana College remains the top-ranked program in the 2024 Week 5/February 21 CWPA Division III Top Five Poll.
The Vikings (100 points) – which return to reigning as a unanimous No. 1 selection for the third time after posting 100, 99 100 and 99 points in the Week 1, 2, 3 and 4 balloting, respectively – continue to lead the duo of 2017, 2018 and 2019 CWPA Division III Champion Macalester College (92 points) and 2021 and 2022 CWPA Division III Champion Austin College (92 points) as the Scots and Kangaroos remain deadlocked at No. 2.
Connecticut College (84 points) rates at No. 4 with the duo of Carthage College (33 points) and Washington & Jefferson College (33 points) tying at No. 4 to complete the Top 5.
