BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2024 Week 6/February 28 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.
The University of California-Los Angeles and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges continue at No. 1 in the National Top 25 and Division III Top 10, respectively, while Augustana College remains the leader in the CWPA Division III voting, respectively, through six weeks of varsity competition. The CWPA Division I poll experiences a minor change as Princeton University pulls even with the University of Michigan for the lead position in the league.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA), the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF), the Golden Coast Conference, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), the Big West Conference, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and the CWPA based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls are compiled and released on Wednesdays during the season.
2024 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 6/February 28)
The University of California-Los Angeles marches on as a unanimous No. 1 selection in the 2024 Week 6/February 28 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.
UCLA (100 points) now leads runner-up the University of Hawaii (96 points) by four points – two points less than last week’s 100-to-94 total. Stanford University (91 points) moves up to No. 3 with the University of California (86 points) and the University of Southern California (86 points) following the Cardinal up the rankings to tie at No. 4.
Fresno State University (80 points) slips back to No. 6 with the University of California-Irvine (74 points) taking over at No. 7. The University of Michigan (71 points) remains stationary at No. 8 with Long Beach State University (68 points) and Princeton University (63 points) assuming the No. 9 and 10 slots, respectively.
Arizona State University (60 points) slips back to No. 11 with Loyola Marymount University (58 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (53 points), Indiana University (44 points), the University of California-San Diego (43 points) and the University of California-Davis (40 points) standing at No. 12-to-16, respectively.
University of the Pacific (38 points) and Wagner College (28 points) hold on at No. 17 and 18 with Harvard University (27 points) and Brown University (27 points) deadlocking at No. 19.
San Jose State University (16 points) and Long Island University (14 points) take over at No. 21 and 22 with the duo of Marist College (10 points) and California State University-Northridge (10 points) tying at No. 23. San Diego State University (7 points) completes the Top 25.

Pomona-Pitzer (100 points), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (95 points) and California Lutheran University (89 points) continue at No. 1-to-3 with Augustana College (81 points) acquiring sole possession of the No. 4 berth after tying with the University of Redlands (63 points) last week.
Chapman University (79 points) moves to No. 5, the University of La Verne (75 points) stays at No. 6 and Austin College (70 points) inches up to No. 7, while Redlands slips to No. 8.
Whittier College (62 points) and Macalester College (62 points) complete the Top 10 by tying at No. 9.

The University of Michigan gains company at No. 1 in the 2024 Week 6/February 28 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Top Five Poll as defending league champion Princeton University pulls even with the Wolverines.
The question of weather 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 league champion Michigan (97 points) or 2000, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2023 league champion Princeton University (97 points) are the best-of the-best at this point in the CWPA season could be answered this weekend as the Wolverines and Tigers are slated to meet at Princeton in league competition.
The remainder of the Top FIve remains stagnant as 2022 and 2023 CWPA Championship runner-up Harvard University (91 points), Brown University (85 points) and Saint Francis University (48 points) retain their rankings from last week.

2023 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Champion Augustana College remains the top-ranked program in the 2024 Week 6/February 28 CWPA Division III Top Five Poll.
The Vikings (100 points) hold a seven-point margin over 2021 and 2022 CWPA Division III Champion Austin College (93 points) and an eight-point spread compared to 2017, 2018 and 2019 CWPA Division III Champion Macalester College (92 points).
Connecticut College (66 points) stays at No. 4, while Washington & Jefferson College (50 points) acquires sole custody of the No. 5 berth after tying with Carthage College (32 points) for the spot last week.
