2025 Women’s Collegiate Club New York Division Schedule

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2025 Women’s Collegiate Club New York Division schedule.

Comprised of Colgate University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Hamilton College, New York University and Syracuse University, the division will contest its 22nd season of competition as Columbia (2001, 2003, 2007, 2013, 2017), NYU (2002, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2014, 2015, 2016), Cornell (2005, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2018, 2024), Syracuse (2023) and former division member Hartwick College (2020) hold prior championship crowns.  The 2020 and 2021 seasons were lost to COVID-19, while the New York Division did not contest a season in 2022.

Competition begins on Saturday-Sunday, February 22-23, as Colgate in Hamiton, N.Y., hosts 12 games.  Due to the Women’s National Collegiate Club Championship occurring on Friday-Sunday, April 11-13, the results of the opening weekend will determine the division’s qualifier for the National Championship tournament.

Each team will play four of the five teams within the division during the first tournament. The matchups against certain opponents at Colgate were coordinated so that the top three teams did not play one of the bottom three teams, based on last year’s seeding.  This means that Cornell did not play the sixth seed Colgate, Syracuse did not play the fourth seed NYU, and Columbia did not play fifth seed Hamilton. (with Columbia and NYU tied in record last season, it was important they play each other in the first weekend). The opponents not played in the first weekend will be played during the second weekend for the teams failing to qualify for Nationals.

The New York Division regular season comes to a close on Saturday-Sunday, April 12-13, at Hamilton in Clinton, N.Y. with another planned 12-game weekend.  However, due to the division qualifier competing at the National Collegiate Club Championship on the same weekend, the schedule will be revised to eliminate that team from the slate.

All six teams – including the National Collegiate Club Championship qualifier – will compete at the New York Division Championship on Saturday-Sunday, April 26-27, at Columbia in New York, N.Y.  Seeding for the championship will be based on the teams’ regular season finish in the division.
