BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2025 Week 16/May 7 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.
Heading into the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Championship this weekend hosted by Indiana University, Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Champion Stanford University, CWPA Champion Harvard University, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Champion/USA Water Polo Division III Collegiate Champion Pomona-Pitzer Colleges and CWPA Division III Champion Augustana College retain the lead positions in the Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five polls, respectively.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from around the country based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls will be compiled and released on Wednesday during the season starting the Wednesday following the first regular season contest.
2025 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 16)
Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Champion Stanford University remains at No. 1 in the Week 16/May 7 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.
Stanford (100 points), the University of California-Los Angeles (96 points), the University of Southern California (92 points), the University of California (87 points), Big West Champion the University of Hawaii (85 points), Long Beach State University (78 points) and the University of California-Irvine (68 points) retain the No. 1-to-7 positions, while Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Champion Harvard University (65 points) and Fresno State (65 points) rise to tie at No. 8.
Golden Coast Conference Champion Loyola Marymount University (64 points) takes over at No. 10 with Princeton University (62 points) improving to No. 11. Arizona State University (60 points) assumes the spot at No. 12 with the University of California-San Diego (54 points), Indiana University (53 points), San Jose State University (46 points), the University of Michigan (43 points) and the University of California-Davis (35 points) hanging on at No. 13-to-17.
Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Champion Wagner College (33 points) and the University of California-Santa Barbara (27 points) exchange the No. 18 and 19 spots with University of the Pacific (22 points) remaining at No. 20.
Marist College (18 points), San Diego State University (15 points), Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) Champion McKendree University (12 points) and Brown University (8 points) assume the No. 21-to-24 berths. Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Champion/USA Water Polo Division III Collegiate Champion Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (5 points) and Bucknell University (5 points) complete the Top 25 in a tie for the final position.

Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Champion Pomona-Pitzer Colleges completes the year as a unanimous No. 1 pick in the Week 16/May 7/Final Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll.
Pomona-Pitzer (100 points) – which captured the USA Water Polo Division III Championship over the weekend at Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill. – leads a Top 10 which experiences one change as Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (95 points) remains at No. 2 with Chapman University (88 points) and California Lutheran University (87 points) exchanging the No. 3 and 4 spots.
The University of La Verne (79 points), Occidental College (72 points), Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Champion Augustana (70 points), Washington & Jefferson College (67 points), Macalester College (59 points) and Austin College (58 points) complete the final women’s Division III ranking of the 2025 season.

The Crimson (98 points) – which knocked off Princeton University (97 points) by a 10-8 score in overtime at Brown University to claim the program’s inaugural Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) women’s water polo title – are followed by Princeton (97 points), the University of Michigan (90 points), Bucknell University (83 points) and Brown (82 points).

Augustana (100 points) – which claimed Third Place at home over the weekend during the USA Water Polo Division III Collegiate Championship – leads a Top Five which experiences no changes as Washington & Jefferson College (94 points), Macalester College (90 points), Austin College (86 points) and Carthage College (80 points) wrap-up the year at No 2-to-5, respectively, behind the Vikings.
