BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2025 Week 7/March 5 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.

Stanford University remains the undisputed queens in the National Top 25, while Pomona-Pitzer Colleges remains at No. 1 in the Division III Top 10 voting.

Harvard University stays at No. 1 in the CWPA Division I Top Five with Augustana College continuing to reign in the CWPA Division III Top Five.

Voted on by a panel of coaches from around the country based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls will be compiled and released on Wednesday during the season starting the Wednesday following the first regular season contest.

2025 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 7)

Stanford University remains the unanimous No. 1 pick in the Week 7/March 5 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.

Stanford (100 points) – which shattered a tie with the University of Southern California at No. 1 last week – receives all the first place votes to rate as a unanimous top selection following a 10-6 dispatching of the Trojans two weeks ago.  USC (96 points), the University of Hawaii (92 points), the University of California-Los Angeles (88 points), the University of California (84 points), Fresno State (76 points) and Long Beach State University (74 points) remain at No. 2-to-7, respectively.

Harvard University (73 points) gains sole custody of the No. 8 berth after sharing the spot with now No. 9 the University of California-San Diego (67 points) last week.  Arizona State University (66 points) completes the Top 10 by cracking the upper echelon of the rankings after holding down the No. 11 position last week.

Princeton University (58 points) and the University of Michigan (52 points) ascend to No. 11 and 12 with the duo of the University of California-Irvine (51 points) and Loyola Marymount University (51 points) tying at No. 13.

Indiana University (49 points) hangs on at No. 15 with the University of California-Davis (42 points), Wagner College (38 points), San Jose State University (32 points), the University of California-Santa Barbara (25 points) and San Diego State University (22 points) rearranging to stand at No. 16-to-20.

Brown University (13 points) and University of the Pacific (13 points) move from a tie at No. 24 seven days ago to sharing the No. 21 spot, while California State University-Northridge (12 points) and Villanova University (12 points) are deadlocked at No. 23.

California Baptist University (7 points) concludes the Week 7 Top 25.

2025 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 7)

Pomona-Pitzer Colleges stays at No. 1 in the Week 7March 5 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll.

Pomona-Pitzer (100 points), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (95 points), Chapman University (88 points) and California Lutheran University (87 points) remain locks at No. 1-to-4, while the remainder of the Top 10 experiences significant changes from the Week 6/February 26 rankings.

Augustana College (80 points) and Occidental College (72 points) elevate to No. 5 and 6 with Macalester College (67 points) staying at No. 7 for another seven-day run.

The University of La Verne (54 points) drops back to No. 8, the University of Redlands (50 points) cracks the Top 10 at No. 9 and Austin College (45 points) slides to No. 10.

The Crimson of Harvard University continues to rate as a unanimous No. 1 pick in the Week 7/March 5 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division I Top Five Poll.

Harvard (100 points) leads at CWPA Top Five which experiences no changes with 2000, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2023 and 2024 league champion Princeton University (95 points), 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 league champion Michigan (90 points), Brown University (85 points) and Bucknell University (80 points) remaining stagnant at No. 2-to-5.

2025 Women’s Varsity Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Top 5 (Week 7

2023 and 2024 Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Champion Augustana College continues as the top-ranked program in the Week 7/March 5 CWPA Division III Top Five Poll.

Although a unanimous pick, the Vikings (100 points) lead over 2017, 2018 and 2019 CWPA Division III Champion Macalester College (95 points) shrinks from six (100-to-94) to five (100-to-95) points as the Scots garnered all the runner-up votes.

2021 and 2022 CWPA Division III Champion Austin College (88 points) and Washington & Jefferson College (87 points) hang on at No. 3 and 4 with Carthage College (48 points) taking over at No. 5.
