2026 Men’s Collegiate Club Atlantic Division Schedule
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2026 Men’s Collegiate Club Atlantic Division schedule.
Due to the size of the division and the geographic span of the teams, the group is divided into North (Georgetown University, George Washington University, United States Naval Academy, University of Maryland, University of Virginia) and South (Duke University, James Madison University, North Carolina State University, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech)) Regions with the clubs competing in a double round-robin format.
The Atlantic Division will contest its 26th season of competition in 2026 with the University of Richmond (2000), Georgetown (2001, 2002, 2005), Virginia (2003, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025), North Carolina-Chapel Hill (2004, 2010, 2011, 2012), Virginia Tech (2006, 2007, 2009, 2017), Duke (2008, 2014, 2016), Maryland (2013, 2015) and Navy (2018, 2019) previously claiming titles. The 2020 season was not contested due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Competition begins with two tournaments on Saturday-Sunday, September 19-20, as Maryland in College Park, Md., hosts a 10-game Northern Region event, while James Madison in Harrisonburg, Va., hosts a 10-game Southern Region weekend.
Northern Region competition concludes on Saturday-Sunday, September 26-27, as Annapolis, Md., is the site for another 10-game weekend at Navy. Southern Region action comes to a close on Saturday-Sunday, October 3-4, at North Carolina State in Raleigh, N.C., with a final 10-game docket.
The Atlantic Division Champion will be crowned on Saturday-Sunday, October 24-25, at Maryland as the Terrapins host the 15-game event. All games during the weekend – with the exception of the championship contest – will use six-minute quarters with teams limited to one timeout per half and overtime being conducted exclusively in a sudden death format.
Due to the Northern and Southern Regions not competing in a crossover event, seeding for the championship is determined by the victor of the 2025 Atlantic Division Championship. Since Virginia won the title last year, the Northern Region receives the No. 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 seeds, while the Southern Region claims the No. 2, 4, 6 8 and 10 spots.
The victor of the division earns the group’s berth to the 2026 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship on Friday-Sunday, November 6-8, at a site to be determined.
