2026 Men’s Collegiate Club Southwest Division Schedule
BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases an updated 2026 Men’s Collegiate Club Southwest Division schedule.
The division’s membership expands to 10 teams as Ottawa University (Ariz.) joins Arizona State University “A”, Arizona State University “B”, Northern Arizona University, San Diego State University “A”, San Diego State University “B”, the University of Arizona, the University of California-Riverside, the University of California-San Diego “A” and the University of California-San Diego “B” in competing during the group’s 25th season of action in the CWPA.
Arizona (1996, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009), the University of Colorado (1998, 2001), Arizona State (2008, 2010), San Diego State (2016, 2017, 2021) and UC-San Diego (2018, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025) have combined to claim the previous 24 titles. The 2020 season was not contested due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Southwest Division did not compete as a group in 2011.
The Southwest Division schedule experiences multiple changes thanks in part to the addition of Ottawa.
The schedule for the Saturday-Sunday, October 3-4, weekend at UC-San Diego in La Jolla, Calif., is adjusted to 19 games with the inclusion of Ottawa. Games on Saturday, October 3, will use five-minute quarters with neither overtime nor timeouts. Games on Sunday, October 4, will use six-minute quarters with no overtime and teams limited to one timeout per half.
The site of the second regular season weekend changes as San Diego State in San Diego, Calif., will host 20 games on Saturday-Sunday, October 17-18, rather than the University of Arizona in Tucson, Ariz. All games at San Diego State will use five-minute quarters with neither overtime nor timeouts.
The SDSU weekend could expand to 21 games as a single Ottawa-vs.-Arizona State “A” contest at a site to be determined will be added to the San Diego State weekend on Sunday, October 18, if the teams are unable to get pool time to play the contest on another day.
The Southwest Division Championship on Saturday-Sunday, October 31-November 1, is expanded to a 10-team/16-game format and moves from Arizona State in Tempe, Ariz., to Arizona in Tucson, Ariz. All games during the championship – with the exception of the title game – will use six-minute quarters with sudden death overtime and teams limited to one timeout per half.
The victor of the championship claims the division’s bid to the 2026 Men’s National Collegiate Club Championship on Friday-Sunday, November 6-8, at the Huntsville Aquatics Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
