BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2026 Week 3/February 4 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.
Defending National Champion Stanford University remains at No. 1 in the National Top 25, while Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges dislodges Pomona-Pitzer Colleges from the lead position in the Division III Top 10 Poll.
Defending CWPA Champion Harvard University and CWPA Division III Champion Augustana College stay in the premier spots of the CWPA Division I and Division III Top 5 polls, respectively.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from around the country based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls will be compiled and released on Wednesday during the season starting the Wednesday following the first regular season contest.
2026 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 3)
Defending National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Champion Stanford University rolls on as the Cardinal top the 2026 Week 3/February 4 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.
The Cardinal (100 points) become a unanimous No. 1 pick to lead a Top 25 poll which experiences the most significant changes of the young season.
The University of California-Los Angeles (96 points) and the University of Southern California (92 points) exchange the No. 2 and 3 positions following a 12-9 victory by the Bruins over the weekend, while the University of California (89 points), the University of Hawaii (84 points), Arizona State University (79 points) and Long Beach State University (77 points) retain the No. 4-to-7 positions, respectively.
Harvard University (71 points) rises five positions to No. 8, Loyola Marymount University (67 points) stays steady at No. 9 and the duo of Fresno State University (62 points) and Indiana University (62 points) deadlock at No. 10 to complete an 11-team Top 10.
The University of California-Irvine (56 points) drops one slot to No. 12 due to Harvard’s rise into the Top 10, while the University of California-San Diego (47 points) and Princeton University (47 points) tie at No. 13.
The University of Michigan (46 points), the University of California-Davis (37 points), San Jose State University (33 points), Marist University (32 points) and San Diego State University (27 points) rearrange to rate at No. 14-to-19 prior to University of the Pacific (24 points) and Brown University (24 points) tying at No. 20.
Wagner College (19 points), California Baptist University (14 points) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (6 points) stand at No. 22-to-24. Bucknell University (3 points) and California State University-Northridge (3 points) complete the Top 25 in a tie for the final position.

2026 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 3)
A new team reigns supreme in Division III as Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges becomes a unanimous top selection in the 2026 Week 3/February 4 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll.
The Athenas – who doubled-up defending USA Water Polo Division III National Champion/previously top-billed Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (95 points) over the weekend – are the lone teams to move up this week.
Pomona-Pitzer slips to No. 2 with California Lutheran University (89 points), Chapman University (84 points), Augustana College (80 points), the University of La Verne (73 points), Austin College (68 points), Macalester College (65 points), Occidental College (51 points) and Whittier College (47 points) preserving their prior rankings at No. 3-to-10.

2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 league champion the University of Michigan (90 points) – which was tied with Harvard and Princeton at No. 1 in the preseason voting – closes in on the Crimson and Tigers, while Brown University (88 points) and Bucknell University (80 points) again complete the Top Five.

The Vikings (98 points) stay at No. 1 with Macalester College (93 points) and Austin College (93 points) tying for the runner-up spot. Carthage College (85 points) and Connecticut College (49 points) round out the Top Five.
