BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the 2026 Week 7/March 4 Women’s Varsity National Top 25, Division III Top 10, CWPA Top Five and CWPA Division III Top Five Polls.
Defending National Champion Stanford University remains at No. 1 in the National Top 25, while Pomona-Pitzer Colleges assumes the lead position in the Division III Top 10 Poll.
Defending CWPA Division III Champion Augustana College remains a unanimous top choice in the CWPA Division III Top Five, while the University of Michigan hangs on at No. 1 in the CWPA Top Five.
Voted on by a panel of coaches from around the country based on the cumulative results of the season, the polls are compiled and released on Wednesday during the season.
2026 Women’s Varsity National Top 25 (Week 7)
Defending National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Champion Stanford University continues at No. 1 in the 2026 Week 7/March 4Women’s Varsity National Top 25 Poll.
The Cardinal (100 points), the University of California-Los Angeles (96 points), the University of Southern California (92 points) and the University of California (88 points) remain the Top Four teams in the nation, while Arizona State University (84 points) breaks a tie with the University of Hawaii (80 points) at No. 5 as programs stand at No. 5 and 6, respectively.
Loyola Marymount University (76 points) holds firm at No. 7, while Long Beach State University (70 points) rises to No. 8 and drives Indiana University (66 points) and the University of California-Irvine (60 points) back to No. 9 and 10.
Fresno State University (59 points) and the University of Michigan (59 points) rearrange to tie at No. 11, Harvard University (55 points) remains locked at No. 13 and the trio of Princeton University (44 points), the University of California-San Diego (44 points) and the University of California-Davis (44 points) deadlock in a three-way tie at No. 14.
San Jose State University (39 points), Marist University (33 points) and San Diego State University (26 points) abide at No. 17-to-19 with the duo of Brown University (22 points) and Wagner College (22 points) balancing out at No. 20.
California Baptist University (16 points) and California State University-Northridge (14 points) endure at No. 22 and 23, while University of the Pacific (5 points) ascends to No. 24. Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (4 points) is the lone newcomer to the Top 25 as the Sagehens assume the final berth.

2026 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 (Week 7)
Pomona-Pitzer Colleges – which knocked off previously top-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges by a 12-11 count last week – takes over at No. 1 in the 2026 Week 7/March 4 Women’s Varsity Division III Top 10 Poll.
The Sagehens (100 points) and Athenas (95 points) lead a Division III Top 10 which experiences three changes compared to the Week 6/February 25 voting.
California Lutheran University (90 points), Chapman University (83 points) and Augustana College (80 points) stay at No. 3-to-5 with Occidental College (74 points) and Austin College (68 points) exchanging the No. 6 and 7 berths.
Macalester College (60 points) and the University of La Verne (53 points) continue at No. 8 and 9 with Carthage College (33 points) breaking into the rankings at No. 10.

The 2005, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022 league champion Wolverines (98 points) remain in front of 2025 CWPA Champion Harvard University (96 points) and 2000, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2023 and 2024 league champion Princeton University (91 points).
Brown University (85 points) and Bucknell University (80 points) again complete the Top Five.
